Morzine Snow Report: 18th March 2014

Spring Conditions in March Sunshine

featured in Snow report Author James Fisher, Morzine Video Reporter Updated

It's another scorcher here in Morzine and Avoriaz today.

I headed up the Pleney bubble at 11am for a quick lunchtime ski and I was pleasantly surprised. Although the town is now very dry and brown and the sides of some of the pistes are looking a little patchy and bare the groomed runs themselves still have great cover and there are no queues on any of the lifts.

The snow is pretty slushy on most of the slopes but it's great fun and an earlier start would have yeilded firmer pistes.

You can see from today's pictures that Ranfoilly in Les Gets still has great cover and the snow is great fun. I'll head over to Avoriaz tomorrow for a look at the slopes there and I'm hopeful that the snow will be a little less sloppy.

The forecast looks like the temperatures will drop at the end of the week and we might even get a little fresh snow. It's not Spring yet.
