Now that spring is here the weather has been very warm and as a result the slopes in Morzine are suffering. The snow in Avoriaz is better than in Morzine especially earlier in the morning.

The sun has been beating down hard for a few days now and the slopes are very slushy by the end of the day. Although today was a little overcast the temperature was high and the snow continued to soften into the afternoon. The best time of day to enjoy the slopes is about 10am as this is when the snow starts to soften but hasn't turned into soup.

There are a couple of bonuses to the sunny weather.

Firstly it's BBQ season! The Tremplin, Aubergade and of course Robbo's are now bathed in afternoon sunshine and offer a perfect apres ski beer stop.

And, It's now very, very quiet on the hill. The slopes were almost empty this afternoon in Morzine and friends reported the same in Avoriaz. Although the end of season snow is quite slushy the cover is still excellent and if you want the mountain to youself, sunny lunches and afternoon BBQ's then now is the time to visit Morzine.
