Updated

Because they’re generally self-catered, apartments tend to be cheaper than catered chalets, so they are a great choice when looking for a budget-friendly base at the foot of the slopes.

We’ve written a complete guide on apartment rentals in Morzine to help you make the most of your ski trip. Read on for the best insider's tips.

3 things to look out for when booking an apartment in Morzine

It couldn't be easier to book an apartment in Morzine. All you have to do is fill in the box at the top of this page or visit our Holiday Rentals page, featuring a great selection of apartments and chalets handpicked by us from a list of accommodation providers. To start your booking process, set your requirements – at least your arrival date and number of people – and we’ll show you which properties are available.

There are a few things you may want to consider beforehand to make sure you find the perfect ski apartment:

1. When should you book your apartment?
We recommend you book your apartment as soon as possible. Holiday rentals usually sell out quite quickly and a lot of people book as early as January for the next winter season. Our top tip is that you book your accommodation before buying your flights or train ticket, the reason being that availability may be limited and apartment start/end dates are not always as flexible as travel options.

As for the best time to stay in an apartment, they're usually open for bookings during the winter and summer high seasons – from December to April and from June to September. However, some accommodation companies may offer interseason holiday rentals for large parties – specify your desired dates in the Special Requirements box while booking and our team will get back to you with alternative options.

2. How long should you book your apartment for?
Ski apartments in Morzine are generally rented on a weekly basis, usually from Saturday to Saturday. However, these dates can occasionally be flexible and some companies may provide a mix of Saturday and Sunday changeovers.

Lately, thanks to the increased offer in flights, especially cheap ones, shorter and longer ski breaks are becoming more and more popular so some accommodation companies may be flexible on their rental dates on request. Therefore, even if you can only find seven-day offers on our Holiday Rentals page, we may be able to accommodate shorter and longer bookings – state your desired dates in the Special Requirements box and we’ll get back to you with alternative options.

On the other hand, summer apartment bookings in Morzine are generally more flexible on dates and length of stay, especially outside the peak months of July and August. This means that you may be able to come for a long weekend, for ten days or for a few days mid-week more easily. Again, state your requirements in the Special Requirements box while booking.

3. How big is your group?
Apartments to rent in Morzine range from small studios to large chalet-apartments, making them suitable for all sorts of parties, from couples looking for a romantic escapade to families or groups of friends. Before booking your apartment, you’ll need to know the exact number of people and the ages of the children coming with you on your holiday – you can filter our holiday rentals by capacity at the top of the page.

Seasonal rentals in Morzine

Dinning area in Le Petit Ibex apartment

If you are working as a chalet chef or a chalet host, chances are you will have your accommodation organised for you by your employer. However, there are lots of jobs out there that do not include seasonal accommodation and it is up to you to find a place to stay. Here are a few things to look out for.

What should you look out for when booking seasonal accommodation in Morzine?
Morzine is a large town and more spread out than your typical alpine ski resort. If you are planning on spending lots of time in the central Morzine bars or clubs, then make sure that your accommodation is within walking distance of the centre. There are lots of places on the outskirts of Morzine that offer seasonal accommodation, particularly along the Route de la Plagne. Space comes at a premium in Morzine so don't expect your accommodation to be particularly glamorous. Price can vary dramatically depending on what you go for – an apartment for just one person comes at a premium even if it is just a studio, so it's usually much cheaper to share a bedroom with someone else in a large shared apartment or chalet. If you have found your dream apartment but it is on the outskirts of town, make sure it is on the bus route. The ski buses are free in Morzine and generally run at regular intervals. If you don’t have a car in resort then this will be the best way to get to work and, most importantly, to hit the slopes each day.
