Rock the Pistes lineup 2017 announced

Popular music festival returns to the Portes du Soleil in March 2017

Rock The Pistes music festival is returning to the Portes Du Soleil from the 19th to the 25th of March 2017 and will feature five live concerts around the ski area as well as a multitude of après ski events.

In previous years more than 28,000 people attended the concerts to see featured artists such as The Klaxons, Shaun White and Babyshambles and this year's line up is looking pretty good too. In addition to the big concerts, there are also more than fifty après ski concerts throughout the Portes Du Soleil and a two day ski treasure hunt, with seventeen markers hidden in the ski area.

The live concerts all start at 13:30 allowing plenty of time to ski to them, watch and ski home again afterwards.

This year’s festival features the following artists:

Matmatah, performing in Morgins on Sunday 19th March. A popular French rock band who have also performed at various international festivals, Matmatah split up in 2008 before reforming in 2016. Their debut album, La Ouache, sold 300,000 copies within its first six months of release.

Chinese Man are playing in Chatel on Monday 20th March. A French Trip Hop group originally from Aix En Provence, they are no strangers to the area having played in Les Gets about six years ago. The group have released numerous albums over the years and are guaranteed to put on a great show.

On Thursday 23rd March Rag’n Bone Man will be performing in Avoriaz. Rory Graham is a British singer/songwriter who has won the Brits Critic’s Choice award. His debut album is due to be released in March 2017 and he will be kicking off his European tour in Avoriaz.

French electro swing band Caravan Palace will be performing in Les Gets on the 24th of March. The band have released three albums as well as performing at some prestigious festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury.

Finally Julien Perretta will be performing in Champery/Les Crosets on Saturday 25th March. A British singer songwriter who has previously opened for Beyonce on her world tour, he has released two albums so far in his career.
