Earthquake near Morzine
2.8 magnitude quake felt by residents in Morzine
An earthquake of 2.8 magnitude happened last night, enough to give Morzine inhabitants a bit of a shake up!
The quake happened at around 2am and was took place at a depth of 2 kilometres with the epicentre 8km to the north west of Les Gets.
Small earthquakes like this do happen from time to time in the Haute Savoie region, the last one we knew about happened near Chamonix in December.
