La Chaudanne Wine Bar & Restaurant, Morzine Centre

Warm & welcoming Savoyard wine bar & restaurant

Featured in: | Updated

With a great reputation for its restaurant in Morzine, this wine bar is also definitely worth a visit.

La Chaudanne restaurant first opened its doors in 1979 but the property was completely renovated and enlarged in 2010 and it now comprises the original restaurant plus an elegant, yet cosy, wine bar.

The wine bar itself is quite unique, set in a vaulted stone cellar with modern clean lines whilst retaining a Savoyarde feel; it is the perfect environment for sampling wine.

The sommelier is on hand to guide you through the extensive wine list and they also serve a small menu of tapas and sharing platters to enhance your tasting experience. In the restaurant you can indulge yourself with some of the best Savoyarde specialities in town, as well as a tantalising array of modern french dishes and desserts.

Its warm and welcoming environment seems miles from the noise and bustle of the resort. Relax, breathe and enjoy.

From June to September and December to April, the wine bar is open daily from 17:00 and the restaurant is open for lunch & dinner:
Lunch: 12:00 - 14:00
Dinner: 18:30 - midnight

  • "The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, decor and seating and is relatively family friendly. I think the service was efficient if not too over friendly which I think is understandable given the fact it gets quite busy. The kids menu is excellent value and really good quality. The wine list is also very good and the steak I had and the fish my wife had were great, well cooked , presented and overall very good. Good restaurant and overall very good option in Morzine" - Trip Advisor
  • "Great menu, friendly service and very relaxed dining experience for a last night holiday treat. Particularly recommend the steak and frites from the childrens menu and the gourmand desert - delicious! Wish I was wealthy enough to afford one of the very, very expensive bottles of wine!" - Trip Advisor
  • "This restaurant is well worth a visit. It has an amazing wine cellar (bar) to relax in before you dine. The wine list is fabulous with some interesting choices and the staff are happy to help if you struggle to choose. Upstairs the restaurant is equally as nice. There is a varied and interesting menu. The food is presented in an exciting way and there are many chances for food envy when you see other peoples dishes arrive." - Trip Advisor
