The nursery La Halte-Garderie Les Marmottins is a tourist structure that welcomes children from six months to five years of age during the winter season.
The nursery, managed by the Morzine Tourist Office, offers childcare for families holidaying in Morzine-Avoriaz. It has a maximum capacity of twelve children, supervised by three early years professionals.
Morzine-Avoriaz has been awarded the Famille Plus label, recognised by the French Ministry of Tourism for its family-friendly approach. The day nursery is located in a house with an outdoor garden.
The nursery welcomes children of all nationalities from six months to five years old. The premises feature a dedicated baby area (six to sixteen months) with a playroom, bottle-preparation area, changing room, and three sleeping rooms with five to six beds. There is also a space for older children (sixteen months to five years), including a playroom, activity room, changing room with toilets, and three sleeping rooms with five to six beds. A kitchen is available to prepare meals, along with a garden and outdoor playground.

- A copy of the child’s up-to-date mandatory vaccinations, in accordance with French regulations
- A medical certificate issued less than two months before the child’s start date
- Proof of third-party liability insurance
- A copy of the ID of the parents and of any persons authorised to collect the child
- The completed and signed information form
- The nursery regulations, read and signed
No additional documents are required at this stage.
PMI supervision and medical oversight:
The nursery operates under the supervision of the Protection Maternelle et Infantile (PMI), the French public authority responsible for regulating and regularly inspecting early years childcare settings. This role is broadly comparable to Ofsted in the UK.
The nursery also works under the supervision of a designated medical practitioner, who checks immunisation records and medical certificates.
