Skier Hit By Plane in Avoriaz

Apparently the plane had some kind of mechanical breakdown on take-off, and had to try to make an emergency landing. He was apparently unable to avoid hitting the female skier, who suffered injuries to her hand.

The plane managed to avoid the cable of a chairlift, the trees and a group of children, before crashing onto the blue piste.

The 55 year old woman was transported to hospital to treat her injuries and that the local gendarmerie have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
