New record for Chablais Alps traverse
Morzine mountaineers set record
Two motivated Morzine mountaineers have created and set a record for the traverse of the Chablais Alps, covering 9100 metres gain and 67 km's in under 24hours.
10 summits and 9100 metres in a day
Jean-François Premat and Sébastien Baud set off at 11 pm from Bernex, the pair went on to cover 67 km's and a height gain equivalent to that of Everest in a staggering 21 hours 58 minutes. The summits bridged included the Dent d’Oche, Cornettes De Bises, Mont de Grange, Hauts forts, Tête de Bossetan and the Roc d’enfer.
The mountaineers are by no means amateurs in the game, they currently hold the record for the Haute Route Chamonix - Zermat traverse which was recently attempted by Chamonix PGHM who had to pull out due to ill-health.
