It has been an astonishingly sunny week in the Portes du Soleil. Clear skies and hot days since Monday have made this a brilliant start to August.

This week I'm in Chatel at the top of the downhill. A great way to avoid the August crowds that can fill the Pleney, visiting Chatel offers bike routes for all levels of ability and some beautiful views.

The weekend is shaping up nicely with the Fete de Lac on Saturday night and a Freestyle Motor-cross show in Avoriaz on Sunday afternoon.

Upcoming Events

Morzine hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. The biggest winter festival is the Rock des Pistes week in March, where live bands play up on the pistes, with many other concerts being held in resort during the evenings. Highlights in summer include Crankworx and the Pass'portes du Soleil (two large mountain biking events), and the Spartan obstacle course race.
