We have had it all, not just this week but in one day. Sunshine, snowfall, rain and sunshine again. The result is the deepest snowpack of the season up high and slushy condition but complete cover at the bottom of the Pleney.

BASS Morzine give us the lowdown on skiing conditions in Avoriaz before the lifts open in Morzine on the 21st.

The lifts opened in Avoriaz this weekend and people were rushing up to enjoy the good conditions.

What a difference a few days of snow makes, which has meant that more of the pistes and lifts have opened up across the Portes du Soleil.

There's plenty of soft snow to ski on the pistes this week after fresh snow fall at the weekend.

Get out early this week to enjoy the best conditions, with spring conditions in the afternoons. 

Head to the trees in Avoriaz and the Stash when the light gets flat and visibility is low.

The best time to get out skiing this week is between around 10:00 - 12:00 when the pistes are starting to soften up.

Fresh snow and cold temperatures have meant the pistes have has a good top up this weekend.

We've had lots of snow across the alps in the last week, which is great news for anyone heading to Morzine between now and the end of the season.

It's been another varied week for weather with rain in Morzine but thankfully more snow in Avoriaz.

The snow has returned and it is set to make great pistes excellent and resurrect the off piste, and as there is almost no one here due to low season the great snow is going to stay great - hopefully.

To quote Ice Cube; "Today was a good day." Maybe one of the best I have had in the last four years. Epic powder, empty slopes and clear blue skies. Hopefully there will be more days ahead like this one but the forecast doesn't look great...

Unusually spring like conditions have meant a bit of a warm week here in Morzine, but the snow is holding up and there's even some more expected on this week's forecast.

Powder face shots anyone? It's been so snowy in the last few days the pistes have felt like off piste in places.

George has some good advice on where to ski when the visibility is poor. The good news is that these clouds are bringing fresh snow!

Conditions on piste in Avoriaz remain good, thanks to cold weather we've been having in the last few weeks.

The trails builders have been busy in Les Gets - not only have they totally rebuilt the black track on the Mont Chery side of the valley, but they've been busy working on a brand new trail called Airline. Take a look behind what went into building...

Most of the Portes du Soleil ski area is now open thanks to all the snow that's been falling in Avoriaz over the last week.

We've had blue skies and fresh snow across the Portes du Soleil this weekend and the majority of the pistes in the area are now open.

The snow just kept coming this week, with persistent snow but high winds on occasion too causing some of the lifts to close.

The end of the summer is nigh.. but there are still plenty of lifts open and a few more events left on the summer calendar. 

It's been a mixed bag of weather this week, with plenty more snow up in Avoriaz. High winds have hampered lots of lifts opening.

The slopes are getting busier as we head towards Christmas. Most of the lifts and pistes in Avoriaz are open - take a look at live lift status. Pistes are very well groomed & the Chapelle snow park is open for business

Spring conditions this week in Morzine & Avoriaz, with icy conditions first thing.

It's been a mixed week here in Morzine with a mixed week ahead on this weeks forecast too.

Conditions are vastly improved across the Portes du Soleil ski area after the recent snowfall, and the forecasts are saying that the snow is just going to keep on coming this week!

This video was shot in Morzine over the Christmas holidays last week. We have had a little more snow since then but conditions are pretty similar now to what they were before the weekend.

This week has been pretty wet in Morzine & conditions up in Avoriaz have been testing to say the least with high winds closing many of the lifts yesterday.

Conditions across the whole Portes du Soleil ski area are fantastic after all this fresh snow.

L'Encape is a short run in the Les Gets Bike Park. It's made up of three distinct sections and has a couple of managable jumps and some flowing corners.

The Jump Park is a popular destination in Les Gets.

There are three official, marked runs from the top of the Pleney.

As February draws to a close it looks like we're going to be getting more snow, finally!

Going on an evening skidoo ride is one of the most popular things to do on a trip to Avoriaz. 

Conditions up high are still OK but lots of the lower slopes are starting to get un-skiable and parts fo the Portes du Soleil are starting to close.

It's been a great week for everyone this week with great conditions on the mountain.

It's looking like we're going to have a mixed bag of weather this week, with the sun reappearing properly on Saturday.

The pistes are in good condition in Avoriaz at the moment although there are a few stones starting to poke through so be careful. 

Get up high to make the most of the conditions on piste this week, ideally first thing for a few hours, before the snow starts to get slushy.

With less icy pistes and a good snow coverage, Morzine and Les Gets offered some great conditions to skiers this weekend.

The half term crowds are here so if you're looking for quieter places to ski, head to Mont Chery in Les Gets or cross over into the Swiss resorts, linked on the Portes du Soleil ski pass.
