La Coup du Coeur Restaurant Review

Cosy Wine Bar Serving Tapas, Pizzas & Daily Specials

featured in Restaurant reviews Author Jan Ogorzalek, Ski Editor Updated

The name of this restaurant 'La Coup du Coeur' roughly translates into 'love at first sight' which is very apt for this wine bar. The bar has a romantic feel but the minute you walk in you feel warm, welcome and relaxed.

For those brave enough to sit on the large terrace during the colder months, you're provided with a warm and cosy blanket allowing you to people watch over the town square and make the most of the winter sun. If like me you prefer to eat lunch inside, the interior has a funky modern décor with lots of comfortable seating ranging from bar stools to leather armchairs. Interestingly, the ceiling has been painted matt black and somehow chalk graffiti has found itself from wall to wall so I'm guessing that some of the wine tasting evenings have resulted in guests balancing on bar stools and leaving their holiday messages for all to see!

Now for the food. As soon as I had chosen my table, I was met with very friendly service and a small plate of tapas to keep me going while I decided what to eat. The menu is based around lots of tapas options and a range of pizza's but in traditional French style I chose the 'plate du jour' which in most restaurants offers the best value for money. Fresh pasta, side salad, roast pork cutlet and a creamy mushroom sauce for 14 Euros proved to be exceptional value for money and very tasty.

Given the restuarants central location, great atmosphere and friendly service I will be sure to come back and sample some of the other options.
