From a small town in Australia to the busy resort of Morzine, Emily-Jane's got some top tips to share on what to do when you're not on the mountain, where to eat & drink, and where the best riding can be found in the Portes du Soleil..

Hi Emily-Jane, how long have you been a Senior Rep and how long have you been working with Alpine Elements?

Iโ€™ve been a resort representative for three seasons prior to this one. This is my second season with Alpine Elements, now as Senior Rep

What makes Morzine a special place to be for you?

Morzine is a great place to be as there is heaps of events going on that you can get involved with. The local bars and restaurants have some great aprรจs (Le Tremplin has a great vibe) and the ski area is just so extensive youโ€™re always finding new areas to venture to either a session in the park with some mates or shredding the pistes by yourself with some tunes playing. Discovering all these little gems makes your job easier when recommending to your guests each week

What are the best bits about your job?

The versatility, never doing the same thing each day and a new challenge each week. The relationships you build in resort with other tour operators, local businesses and the mates you make, not only for the season but for seasons to come.

And the worst bits?

The early mornings.. 4:40am transfers.. I run on adrenaline on a Sunday transfer day!

What is in store for the future with Alpine Elements any exciting projects?

Alpine Elements is expanding their chalet programme with an additional premium plus chalet at the bottom of the Nyon cable car. The Nyon 2 will be situated right next to the existing Nyon chalet and be ready for seasons to come

What are your personal and professional goals for the future?

As a small town girl from Wodonga, Australia Iโ€™d like to stay in the Northern hemisphere and continue to play in the snow โ€“ start hitting those red kickers and landing the 3โ€™s! I love being a rep so if I could be a rep forever I would - Iโ€™ll become Queen Rep! Ha ha

What's your favourite piste or off-piste area & top tip to go skiing?

I enjoy the Stash โ€“ a natural park in Avoriaz with some big features - just make sure you wear a helmet as itย  hurts when you hit the wood! Off piste Iโ€™d best tell you to do the Star Wars โ€“ you find it at the top of the Lindarets chair lift

Where would send someone who was after that something 'something special' in resort, to stay, eat or drink?

The Hotel Renardiere is a really cute chalet-hotel with an open kitchen and bar area. And a hot tub! One of my favourite properties in the Alpine Elements programme.

Your favourite place for lunch or dinner?

Mamma's. There's heaps to choose from on the menu and huge portions size. If youโ€™re after a big feed get the Mega burger, something lighter they do some nice noodle options โ€“ Pad Thai is a good choice. The Aussie boys in there always make me laugh and remind me of home

Where will we find the best coffee or hot chocolate?

Dottyโ€™s Cafรฉ does really good coffee (always get the large) โ€“ and their deluxe hot chocolates are amazing

What has been your best ever day in Morzine?

A day spent around the Ardent bowl with mates and racing each other to the bottom on every piste

What's the best thing about Morzine?

The fact thatโ€™s itโ€™s not only a ski resort but a vibrant town, it has a great buzz to it

Your favourite thing to do in resort when not skiing?

I enjoy going for a run through the town or having a coffee with mates. The fact that there is an indoor pool open throughout the season is great to when you need a break from riding

What do you do in the summer?

In the summer I try and travel and always go surfing. Iโ€™ve spent the last few summers in Greece learning to windsurf which was amazing.

Which is your favourite shop in resort?

Maybe not shop but I am addicted to these minty lollies they sell in Carrefour

Where are we most likely to find you for aprรจs-ski?!

I love a good pint of peche (we donโ€™t get that in Australia) at Le Tremplin at the bottom of the Pleney or Happy Hours bar in Ardent

..

Alpine Elements have lots ofย winterย &ย summerย holiday destinations across the Alps for you to choose from. Or why not book a short ski break withย iGOSKi.
