Free music festival returning to Portes du Soleil in 2019
In 2019, the ninth edition of this radical new music festival takes place from March 17th to 23rd from 13:00 daily. Put on your skis and join the crowds throughout the Portes du Soleil.
So far, three acts have been confirmed: French singer-songwriter Gaetan Roussel, Charlie Winston from the UK, and Hyphen Hyphen, an elctro-pop band from Nice. In recent years the Rock The Pistes festival has attracted some notable artists, including Lee Scratch Perry, Rag'n'Bone Man and Babyshambles. In addition to the big concerts, there are also more than fifty après-ski gigs throughout the Portes Du Soleil, and a two-day ski treasure hunt with seventeen markers hidden around the ski area.
The Rock The Pistes festival is a free music festival held every year throughout the Portes du Soleil. Artists play on specially constructed stages on the pistes during the day, with gigs continuing in town well into the night. In 2019 the winter festival runs from March 17th to 23rd, with concerts staged in the wildest settings at the heart of the ski areas, and with the best international and French pop and rock artists. A music festival like no other in Europe, all you need to see the gigs is your lift pass.
