Morzine Snow Report: 16th February 2014

Deep, Deep Powder in Time for Half Term in Morzine

featured in Snow report Author James Fisher, Morzine Video Reporter Updated

There was some unusual weather at the end of the week with thunder storms in Morzine and a lot of rain in Morzine and some wet snow in Avoriaz.

On Saturday night the rain began to fall heavily again but as the night set in the freezing level dropped and this morning in Morzine there was a fresh, albeit thin layer of snow on the ground but in Avoriaz and above1500m the snow was fresh, light and very deep.

The visibility today never cleared and skiing was confined to the trees but with fresh knee deep powder it didn't matter where you went you were going to have a great time!!

We rode in the Linderets trees today and the snow was brilliant, the deepest we have had this winter. Tomorrow the sun is set to shine and Monday could be one of the best days of the winter so far if you are a fan of powder skiing. The long term forecast for the rest of the week is for a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Half-term holidays are looking good this year.
