Morzine Snow Report: 27th March 2014

Great Snow on Piste & the Sun Comes Back

featured in Snow report Author James Fisher, Morzine Video Reporter Updated

Today was the first day in a while that we have had winter snow AND sunshine in Morzine.

The snow in Morzine and Avoriaz is much better than it was last week after last weekend's snowfall. On the pistes especially the higher northfacing ones like the Haut Forts the pistes are running fast, and as there is very little traffic, smooth. The lower, flatter slopes, have become a little sticky and marbley. On these traverses, like the run from the top of Zore/Super Morzine to Procolou the snow is a little tricky but on the whole the pistes are really great and when the sun was out today conditions on piste were as god as they have been.

There were some tracks at the top of the Haut Forts and some people were hiking for powder. On the highest shaded slopes there is still some fresh snow and some lines to be had.

The pipe is being reshaped and the parks in Chapelle and Arare are looking good.

The forecasters are predicting some sunny days ahead and with the Rock the Pistes festival in full swing it's going to be a good weekend here in Morzine and Avoriaz.
