Discover the latest Morzine snow conditions
Morzine is now well into its spring pattern, with warmer afternoons in the village and a more varied mix of conditions across the wider Portes du Soleil. The lower slopes are showing signs of the season progressing, but there is still good skiing to be found higher up, especially if you plan your day carefully. The atmosphere is relaxed, with quieter pistes and plenty of sunshine.
Snow depths are currently around 30 to 70 cm in resort, increasing to between 140 and 220 cm on the upper slopes, with the best coverage across Avoriaz and the higher cross border areas. There has been very little recent snowfall, with only light flurries at altitude that have not significantly changed the base.
Temperatures have been ranging from minus 5 to minus 1 degrees on the upper mountain, while the village has seen daytime highs between plus 7 and plus 14 degrees. The freezing level has generally been between 2500 and 3000 metres, dropping overnight which is helping to firm up the snow early in the day. Winds have remained mostly light, with occasional moderate gusts on exposed ridges.
Skiing conditions are best at higher elevations, particularly around Avoriaz where the snow remains more consistent. Early mornings offer firmer pistes across the area, with conditions softening quickly through the day. Lower runs back into Morzine are becoming softer and heavier by late morning and can be quite slushy in the afternoon.
The outlook remains settled with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures expected to continue over the coming days. There is only a small chance of light snowfall on the highest peaks, with no major change to conditions expected. Overnight cooling should continue to provide reasonable early morning skiing.
Morzine is easing into its late season rhythm, with a range of spring activities, live music and village events taking place throughout the week. The quieter slopes make it a good time to explore the wider Portes du Soleil area, particularly the higher sectors.
Weather outlook as of: 30 March 2026. As I am sure you are aware, accurately forecasting weather more than two or three days ahead in the mountains is notoriously tricky. If there is a significant change we will update this section before the next full weekly snow report.
Morzine is offering classic spring skiing, with the best conditions found higher up towards Avoriaz where the snow remains more reliable. Early starts are key for lower runs, and following the altitude through the day will give you the best experience.
