Shredits King of the Mountain 2016
A mental ski / snowboard race down the mountain
Starting a new tradition, Shredits Smartphone App held a chaotic race to determine who would be crowned this years King Of The Mountain, a prestigious title awarded to the winning individual.
The event shook the slopes of Avoriaz as 50 snowboarders and skiers charged down the Ardent home run to Happy Hours Bar with cups of beer to claim the title.
With sponsors Bro! Clothing, Retro Rentals and Finest Hour it drew a crowd of over 500 seasonaires and holidaymakers who watched from the sidelines as the racers descended down to the finish line in a cloud of snow dust.
The rules were simple- a race to the bottom with a full pint of beer. The first rider to reach the finish line with the most beer in their cup wins, but most importantly: pushing, shoving and cheating were encouraged. As an added bonus, Shredits also included six rubber rings hidden in various spots down the piste. If you found a rubber ring and made it to the bottom you were guaranteed a prize.
What followed was one of Morzine's best Après Parties of the season hosted by the team at Happy Hours Bar. DJ Super Fresh kept the tables rocking with hip-hop mash ups, drum & bass and house tunes deep into the afternoon until the crowd stumbled onto the shuttle busses back to Morzine.
