June is here, the lifts re-open mid-month and there's plenty to do in Morzine and Les Gets.

The bike parks in Les Gets and Morzine are open at weekends throughout June with the whole resorts open from the middle of the month. Check the summer season dates here. As summer awakens the town again, longer warmer days, outdoor terraces and plenty of events spring up. It's time for hiking, biking, trail running, yoga, lake swimming and more outdoor activities. During the summer The Tour de France has a stage finish in Morzine, there are music festivals, cultural events, marathons, workshops, something for all the family.

What's the weather like in Morzine in June?

The early mornings and evenings can still feel a little fresh, but the daytime temperatures fall between a low of 8°C and a high of 19°C and sunset isn't until around 21:30, meaning more time outdoors to enjoy the stunning mountain scenery.

Fête de la Musique
A celebration that takes place every summer solstice in cities, towns and villages across France. More than a music festival, the Morzine Fête de la Musique is a free event that spills out from the bars and restaurants onto the streets and encompasses every type of music imaginable, from local amateur teen bands to professional classical musicians, from club DJs to traditional folk bands.
Fête de la Musique is one of those certain nights throughout the year when the French authorities waive normal licensing laws, allowing the revelry to continue as long as there are people with the stamina to enjoy it – it is definitely one of the not-to-be-missed events of the summer social calendar. Pass'Portes du Soleil
Classic mountain biking event in the vast mountain playground of the Portes du Soleil. The Pass'Portes du Soleil event marks the beginning of the summer season. Three days of mountain biking across the Portes du Soleil, the classic circuit is 80km long, and includes 7,000m of downhill and 1,000m of uphill. Fifteen lifts give you access to eight different resorts, with some great riding along the way. The weekend Bike exhibition and show is in Morzine this year.

Watersports
Cool off with a dip in Lac Montriond - learn to stand up paddle or take part in a yoga paddle - yes, that's yoga whilst balanced on a paddle board! It's an ideal place to SUP, and it's great for your balance, strengthens your core and can improve both stamina and upper-body strength, plus it's great fun and is something all the family can try. Alternatively take a kayak out for a more leisurely trip around the lake. And if you want more adventures, there's always white water rafting, hydrospeed, canyoning and wakeboarding. 

Mountain Biking
The lifts are open at the weekends throughout June and open all the time from mid June, but even without the lifts there are plenty of mountain biking cross-country trails to discover around Morzine and Les Gets. Mountain bike rental is offered all over town and you can rent electric mountain bikes too!

Road Biking
There are several famous Tour de France cols around Morzine area and before the summer traffic arrives, it's a great time to discover the many road biking routes the area has to offer.
