Starting from the Col de L'Encrenaz car park you take the trail behind the cafe, at the fork you follow the signs towards Les Praz (right). You will then reach a signpost for Les Paquis, here you want to go left towards the Col de la Basse. Once you reach the Col de la Basse you can choose to walk to the top of the Char des Quais or to continue walking through a forest track and meadows until you reach your starting point again.
