Prodains Cable Car to Avoriaz
The 3S Prodains Express cable car provides access to Avoriaz from Morzine
The Prodains cable car runs from the small hamlet of Les Prodains, around 5 kilometres from Morzine, up to the resort of Avoriaz which is perched on a cliff above the valley.
Since Avoriaz is a car-free resort, the Prodains lift provides one of the main accesses into town. It takes just under 5 minutes to reach the top. Many transfer companies offer two drop-off points, they either drive up all the way to resort (around 20 minutes from Morzine) or drop you off at the bottom of cable car.
The lift is open for pedestrians and residents from 07:00 with midnight closing on Friday and Saturday, a 22:00 closing on Sunday and a 21:00 closing through the week. For skiers, the Prodains cable car is open daily from 08:45 until 17:15.
Prodains Cable Car (pedestrians) | Opens | Closes |
Monday to Thursday | 07:00 | 21:00 |
Fridays & Saturdays | 07:00 | 00:00 |
Sundays | 07:00 | 22:00 |
There is parking at the lift ticket office at Prodains. It costs around €1 an hour and €5 for between 5 and 11 hours. The office is open daily during the winter season between 08:30 and 17:00. A free shuttle bus service operates from Morzine (stopping at the Pléney, tourist office, Mairie and Meuniers roundabout) to Prodains from 08:30 to 21:00. See Line A (Les Prodains > Express d'Avoriaz) on the Aulps Valle Bus timetables.

How to get passes
Access to the Prodains lift is covered by Avoriaz and Portes du Soleil lift passes but not by Morzine/Les Gets passes. Individual tickets can be purchased as a single (€7.50) or return trip (€12). Child discounts apply to those aged 5 to 15, while under 5s travel free. Depending on where you are staying in Avoriaz, you may need to book a horse-drawn sleigh or a shuttle to take you to your accommodation. Avoriaz is pedestrianised so this is often the only way to get you to where you're staying other than walking (there are also luggage sledges to help you with your bags).
