Aquariaz is an aquatic paradise set in the heart of Avoriaz offering a huge water park made up of a gentle flowing indoor river, a slidewinder (an aquatic halfpipe), a toddlers paddling pool and water playhouse, a large pool with natural climbing walls.

A “must visit” during your time in the Portes du Soleil, Cookie Café, at 2300m, between Morzine, Avoriaz and Champery, at the top of the Mossettes TDS lift, is the highest altitude mountain restaurant in the region with a stunning sun terrace and 360 degree views.

La Grange Restaurant is hidden down a little back road, less than 100 metres from the tourist office in the centre of Morzine, and only 100 metres from the bottom of the Pleney, making it a great alternative to eating up the mountain.

Cookie Cafe, located at the highest point in the Portes du Soleil, has a relaxed atmosphere, a chill out lounge and a breathtaking mountain back drop. Often above the clouds, this is a very cool place to visit.

Le Bec Jaune is Morzine’s much-loved microbrewery serving up craft beers and a growing menu of veggie and meat-friendly dishes. Their vegan and meaty burgers and rotating specials pair perfectly with in-house brews ranging from IPAs to traditional ales. With a relaxed vibe and regular events, it’s a popular spot year round.

The first Folie Douce opened in 1980 and it quickly became the place to be for après-ski on the slopes. This is thanks to their unique combination of live music, DJs, dancers and performers.

With a great reputation for its restaurant in Morzine, this wine bar is also definitely worth a visit.

Ô Chalet is a lively, laid-back spot in Morzine serving tasty burgers, bagels, kebabs and crepes at reasonable prices. With a broad menu and buzzing atmosphere, it’s ideal for a quick bite, après snack or casual meal with friends or family. Open all year round, it’s a popular choice for both locals and visitors.

The Morzine Avoriaz golf course is based around the Procolou piste just under Avoriaz town.

The Prodains lift ticket office is at the foot of the Avoriaz cliffs at the bus stop. Ski and pedestrian lift passes are available here.

The Super Morzine gondola (or bubble) is the lift connecting Morzine to Avoriaz from the centre of Morzine.

There is a small ticket office on the side of the Tourist Office in the centre of Morzine.

The Nyon cable car is located a short way out of Morzine centre and is easily accessed by one of the local shuttle buses.

At the foot of the Ardent Cable Car are three windows where you can buy your lift and ski passes.

Located in the centre of Morzine at the bottom of the slopes by the Telepherique du Pleney, is the Morzine lift pass office.

Avoriaz is a modern, purpose-built resort with wood-clad buildings that blend into the surrounding peaks. The village is entirely pedestrianised, so you’ll get around on foot, skis or by horse-drawn sleigh. Wherever you stay, you’re only a short glide from the lifts, restaurants and shops.
